Why did you choose it? What do you love about it?
a. A Sub Platform
One of the project ideas is to make a Sub Platform that provides forms for reader feedback. Some basic questions are included in the form, for example, sharing your thoughts on certain issues or news, name and cities, email, etc. Readers’ feedback can be selected and used by journalists as a source of news. Journalists are also able to contact readers for further information. In this way, news agencies are able to identify and collect interesting accounts from the readers who are related to or interested in certain issues. In an election year, for example, news agencies and research institutes are also able to collect data on important topics. With the monthly or annual membership, journalists or news organizations who have subscribed can get the service and shared data on what readers are thinking about and what they are interested in. 


b. A new news platform
In our imagination of the newsroom of the future, one is a news app. Which gathers many news sources from the different newsrooms in Boston. It can customize preferred news for the audience according to their previous browsing records. It can be installed with social media. For example, when people are surfing on Facebook or Instagram, this news app can pop up on the top and show “Daily news for today”. Our goal is to help the audience to gather news sources on one platform. It will be easy to track followed up news. Thinking about Netflix, everyone can choose what kinds of movie people preferred to watch at the beginning when you started to use Netflix, this news app will have the same function. This news app will also have a news collection functions, thinking of bookcase, people can favorite their news into an online news collection.  It can let the audience feel more personal, customized, and enjoyable to see the news.
What are your goals?
Our goal is to help shape Hearken into a highly functioning operation. Right now, they are very young in development and I hope to help that move along. We hope to not only learn about Hearken, but to learn some brand new skills about media design.
What are your organization's goals?
Hearken’s goals are re-inventing the newsroom of the future. They wish to change how people perceive news and how consumers interpret information. The idea is that news reporters stand on top of a mountain and yell out the news to people below. Hearken’s approach is to confront people face-to-face and deliver the news personally.
What is your organization's mission statement?

Hearken's mission statement is to help “organizations listen better to those they serve and create reciprocal relationships.”

Vases, Faces, and Little Princes

                       (Pencil, 9’’ x 12’’, 163gsm) According to the assignment this week, we tried to separate our hand and eyes and used left and right brain, which was a big challenge for me. When I was drawing the vases & faces drawing, I tried to draw smooth lines, but I found that it was difficult for my brain to control my hand. Especially when I started drawing the right part, I always unconsciously wanted to change the direction of the lines. Thus, I didn’t draw the vases & faces as balanced and full in the end. The biggest challenge for me was the second drawing, I never tried to draw with a reversed direction. Social Justice Posters - Graham

 The social justice movement I decided to go with is LGBTQIA+ rights. I decided to go with this movement because I have important people in my life who are part of the community. While not being a part of the community myself, I realize the privilege I have as a cisgender male in today's society and want to use said privilege in any way possible to advocate for equal rights for all who fall under that umbrella. Also, the quote I chose was tweeted out by Gerard Way after the Orlando nightclub shooting in 2016 and he's been a large influence on my life + an advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights as well. The quote is as follows, "I've always just wanted everyone to be able to be who they want to be, proudly, enthusiastically- freely." The first poster I designed is 11x17 with a black background and white coloring and Chaparral font.
